While the Jana Seitz campaign is hoping absentee ballots will pave the road to victory, Josh Nathan remains confident his 18 vote lead will carry the day.

“We are confident that we will hold the lead and win this election,” Nathan told MyRye.com. “While we wait patiently for the democratic process to be completed, I thank all in Rye who shared their thoughts and ideas with our campaign and who participated in the election.”

It will take up to a week or so for the absentee ballot count to be complete.

Meanwhile Councilman-elect Bill Henderson was dishing out thanks and says he is ready to get to work. “I was very pleased to hear the results of the election last night as well as the re-election of Mayor Cohn and Council members Julie Souza and Ben Stacks. I have exchanged congratulatory messages with Judy and Ben and expect to connect with Mayor Cohn shortly,” Henderson told MyRye.com. “I received a call from Lisa Tannenbaum this morning who was very gracious and wished me well. I thanked her and congratulated her for running a solid campaign.”

“I believe that mitigating the risk of future catastrophic flooding of Blind Brook should be Rye City’s top priority, and I look forward to getting to work on the City Council in pursuit of this goal,” continued Henderson. He also extended thanks to his wife Beth, his campaign manager Matt Thomas, Rye GOP leader Elaine DiConstanza, his running mate Jana Seitz and his supporters.
