Boys Varsity Tennis Puts Eastchester in the Hutch

Rye Boys Varsity Tennis put Eastchester in the hutch on Tuesday, winning the home match 5-2.

“With two players out, the Rye team pulled together to come away with a win against Eastchester,” said Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Coach Sue Dickson. “Anchored as always by steady and winning play by the three singles players, Nicolas Echlov, Henry Groves, and Alex Gordon, Rye had exciting matches. Third doubles, Gavin Forte and Lucas White won an exciting match 0-6, 6-2 with a super tiebreaker (10-6) to put Rye up 4-2. Cian Keegan had his 2022 singles debut and came out with a hard fought win, 6-3, 6-4.”

Lucas White and Gavin Forte played third doubles and came out with a win in a super tiebreaker to clinch the match. Cian Keegan followed up a few minutes later to push the score to 5-2. Rye is second in the league with a record of 6-3.

Varsity plays at Pelham Thursday at 4:30pm.
