Boys Varsity Lacrosse Bags Mahopac
Rye Boys Varsity Lacrosse bagged Mahopac on Wednesday, coming back down I-684 with a 12-7 win in the Garnet’s first outing for the season.
“The play of the game was a transition goal at the end of the 1st half,” said Rye Boys Varsity Lacrosse Coach Steve Lennon. “Tripp Redd scored a goal with 1 second left on the clock to go ahead 7-6 before half-time giving us the momentum that ultimately led to us keeping the lead from that point on.”
Eighth grader Garrett Sullivan had 4 goals and 1 assist in his Varsity debut. Garnet defense allowed only 1 goal against in the 2nd half, overcoming a tumultuous start. There were six different scorers on offense, and the Garnets really started to play as a team as the game went on.
The season starts at 1-0. Watch the replay. The Garnets will host Cold Spring on Saturday at 2pm (watch it).
