Highland Hall Ham-Burglar Arrested by Rye PD
It’s going to be a costly burger for a Naugatuck, Connecticut man.
The man, Andrew J. Mozer, 31, was arrested after unlawfully entering a Rye apartment and stealing ground beef and other consumables. The incident occurred around 9:40pm on Monday, May 29th – Memorial Day. Both residents were home during the incident.
The suspect, Mozer, allegedly accessed an open apartment window from one of the fire escapes of the Highland Hall Apartments on 131 Purchase Street. Mozer then reportedly entered the apartment without permission and stole wine, eggs, and ground beef.
Mozer was arrested and transported to the City of Rye Police Headquarters for processing. He was arraigned in Rye City Court where he was released on $500 cash bail. The ham-burglar was charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, a class “C” felony and three counts of Petit Larceny, a class “A” misdemeanor.
Rye PD reminds you booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
