Assault Arrest @ Hand Rolled Bagels in Downtown Rye
Rye PD arrested a 26 year old Connecticut man for assault at Hand Rolled Bagels. This past Saturday, August 5, at approximately 6:50 am, Rye Police Officers responded to Hand Rolled Bagels at 17 Purdy Avenue in downtown Rye on a report of an irate customer. The store opens at 6:45am.
The victim stated that he allowed a customer, identified as 26 year old Bryce Allen of Hartford, Connecticut, to use the store phone. When the victim asked for the phone back, Allen became irate and threw the phone at the victim as well as reportedly striking the victim in the head with a closed fist.
Allen was placed under arrest and transported to Rye Police Headquarters for processing. He has been charged with assault in the 3rd degree. Allen is due back in Rye City Court on August 22, 2023. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
