Anthony Raymond Verrilli was born on March 15, 1923, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. In Rye, his family’s address was 249 Central Avenue and they were members of the Church of the Resurrection. Anthony enlisted and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Anthony Verrilli was born to his father, Antonio, who was 24 at the time, and his mother, Josephine, who was 20. Long-time residents would remember the Verrilli family dairy company where Tony worked before and after school while in high school. During the summer, Anthony and his sisters, Rose and Gloria, delivered eggs and milk around the neighborhood for the family business.
