Rye Girls Basketball Takes Care of Business in Rescheduled Contest

The Rye Girls Basketball Team improved to 15-1 on the 2025 season on Friday, January 31, taking down the Barack Obama School of Social Justice 69-13. Head Coach Margo Hackett and her group were heavy favorites entering action on Friday evening, and had no problem with their opponent in the big win.
Every player on the roster chipped in on the scoresheet in the dominant win, which includes a stellar defensive effort. The Obama School only recorded three points as a team in the second half, as Rye turned a 37-10 lead into a laugher. Rye did not surrender a single field goal in the fourth quarter, allowing just one free throw.
The Garnets (15-1) have won four in a row and fifteen of sixteen overall on the season. They will look for a fifth straight against Eastchester on Monday, February 3. Game time is set for 4:30pm at the Eastchester gym as part of a big day for Rye basketball against the Eagles. Both boys’ and girls’ varsity and JV teams play Eastchester on Monday for a total of four matchups.
