Garnets Baseball Mercies Rye Neck 14-4

Rye Varsity Baseball team won big on Wednesday, crushing Rye Neck 14-4 in five innings. Rye was finally able to play after back-to-back postponements, and poured fourteen runs on the visiting Panthers.
Charlie Rupp led the offense with three hits (in four at-bats), including one double and three runs batted in. Jamie Morris also notched three hits in a 3-5 performance with a double and two RBIs. Nolan Hutson doubled and knocked in three runs, while Peter Davies picked up his first win of the season on the mound.
Rye (2-1) will hope for the weather to improve and their bats to stay hot as the season progresses. Their next chance to win their third straight comes on short notice – tomorrow, Thursday April 10th, against the other local cats, the Mamaroneck Tigers. The road game is scheduled for 4:30pm.
