The Rye Girls Golf team set a new season best on Monday, May 11, defeating the Pelham Pelicans 223-285. The huge win was fueled by all five starters shooting below 50, and clinched the Garnets first place in their league.

Freshman Leila Kurbusi led the way with a new personal best round of 42, good enough for a medal. Senior captain Myla Bisceglia also scored 42 to medal, while Phoebe Lee, Tori Hobbins, and Anna Bancroft rounded out the scoring with rounds of 45, 45, and 49, respectively. With five solid showings, Head Coach Rich Savage’s team managed a composite score of 223, their best mark of 2025.

The Garnets improve to 9-1 on the year, with their only loss coming on April 8 – more than one month ago. Rye is right back to it tomorrow, Tuesday 5/13, as they visit Harrison Meadows for a road match against the Huskies that begins at 3:45pm.
