Rye Boys Varsity Tennis Head Coach Sue Dickson has named her MVP for the 2025 season: senior Alex Gordon.

“Alex has been a four year starter as a singles player for the varsity tennis team,” Dickson told MyRye.com. “As a senior and captain, he provided leadership for a young and promising team.”

Gordon showed off her versatility this spring, teaming up with the young Grant Lobo to play top doubles. The pair earned All-Section honors and was a staple for Dickson at the top of her depth chart. He also claimed All-League honors – his fourth consecutive year.

“Spirited, reliable, committed, and possessing an arsenal of strong shots, Alex has given depth to our tennis program for four years,” Dickson continued.” “He has a true love of the game and has been a dedicated athlete. Alex will be sorely missed next year and we are grateful for all his contributions.”

Gordon leaves behind a fantastic legacy, which included an undefeated season in 2023. The Garnets will have to fill the gap he leaves behind when he heads to Cornell University next fall.
