Rye Girls Varsity Lacrosse Head Coach Michelle Mason has named her MVP for the 2025 season: senior Katherine Ebeling.

“Katherine is not only an amazing lacrosse goalie, but also an incredible person, teammate, and leader,” Mason told MyRye.com. “Ebeling was the backbone of our defensive unit and someone that her teammates and coaches could always rely on to show up everyday.”

Ebeling started every game for the Garnets in 2025, standing tall in the crease and finishing off her high school career with a 14-5 record. This past season, she only allowed 6.42 goals per game on average and made 134 saves. She allowed more than ten goals just three times in her 19 games, which included holding very strong out-of-state programs such as Wilton, Conestoga, and New Canaan to single digits.

The senior helped Rye to a league championship and undefeated record in Section 1, up until the championship game. She will head to Columbia next fall to continue her lacrosse career at the Ivy League institution. “We are so excited to see what she does at the next level and will miss her deeply,” Mason concluded.
