Gaetano Castellano

Gaetano Castellano grew up in Rye, and lived at 391 Midland Avenue from 1943 to 1967. In July 1963, he enlisted in the US Navy Reserves in New Rochelle, and he served in the U.S. Navy until July 1969. He served aboard the USS Enterprise CVN-65, the Navy’s first nuclear aircraft carrier to go into battle off the coast of Vietnam.

From July 1964 to July 1966, Castellano served aboard the USS Enterprise CVN-65 assigned to G Division – Guided Missile Office.

In 1967, he married his wife Patricia, and the couple attended classes at Iona College together while starting careers at PepsiCo. Castellano graduated cum laude from Iona College in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in facilities management, and in 2023 he established the Patricia D. Castellano ’94 and Gaetano P. Castellano ’87 Endowed Scholarship at Iona. More on Castellano.
