It was a perfect summer night for the Rye Playland July 4th fireworks show.

The evening attracted large crowds with the main Playland parking lot at full capacity and traffic backing up Playland Parkway. County and Rye police were out in numbers directing traffic in and around the park. Rye PD parking enforcement was seen ticketing up and down Midland Avenue where fireworks watchers had parked illegally.

It was the first fireworks show for the season at Playland. Shows now continue every Friday night through August 29.
