One would think the Garnets would have had a long-standing spat with the FOX LANE FOXES, but no, the Garnet and Black of Rye have only fox-hunted twice (2019 & 2022) in the past thirty years. Rye pens the Foxes in their den by a 5-2-0 (.714) historical tally. Are these Red and White Foxes Disney cute and devious, or Brer Fox cunning and sneaky, knowing that a home tilt in the Foxes woodsy 684 liar brings safety and security? The Garnets find out first-paw this Friday night at the 6:30PM kickoff – not the usual, regularly scheduled 7:00PM start.
Watch out Garnets – this one is a perfectly positioned “Trap Game” coming on the paws of the Somers @ Rye clash last Friday night. Don’t be caught off-guard peering beyond Fox Lane to Clarkstown North or savoring the victory over Somers, or the Foxes will steal this one.
It won’t be a nature walk, but the Garnets trip early but trap the Foxes 34-7.
