The Rye Girls Soccer team shut out Pelham for their fifth win of the season on Friday, September 19, defeating the Pelicans 3-0. Rye has now topped their rivals twice this fall by a combined score of 7-1.

“Rye delivered a dominant performance against Pelham at Glover Field,” Head Coach Rich Savage said after the game. “The Garnets controlled possession, moved the ball well, and created numerous scoring opportunities.”

Hannah Jachman buried two of those opportunities, one on a direct free kick from a dangerous spot, and another thanks to a great assist from Harkin Brown. Brown scored once herself to add further insurance, assisted by Jill DeSanto.

“On the defensive end, Julia Carballo anchored the back line, shutting down every Pelham chance,” Savage continued. “In goal, Tessa Labovitz recorded another shutout, making key saves and distributing the ball effectively.”

Rye (5-0-3) still has not lost in 2025, and they will look to keep it that way after the Jewish holidays. The Garnets host Eastchester on Saturday, September 27, under the lights at Nugent Stadium at 7:00pm. Rye is looking to avenge a 0-0 draw against the Eagles earlier this season. Watch it here.
