For the second time in the 2025 season, the Rye Volleyball team swept Brewster 3-0, as they defeated the Bears 25-16, 25-14, 25-10. Rye won more than 65% of the points in the match en route to the victory, which propels them to the next round of the sectional tournament and sends the Bears home prematurely.
Despite the short match, Valeria Medina still managed to rack up 10 kills, thanks in large part to 25 assists from junior setter Amelie Modesto. The most surprising standout performance of the night, however, was Elena Lin, who contributed a remarkable eight aces, more than any Garnet in any game during the regular season. She also placed second on Rye with six digs, saving her best game for the brighter lights.
Rye improves to 14-4, but their 1-0 postseason record is all that matters. The Garnets’ next game and opponent are still TBD. Watch the recent win here.
