The Rye – Rye Neck – Blind Brook Swim and Dive team came in second place at the Conference 4 Co-op meet on October 24-25, 2025, as both divers and swimmers played key roles. The diving competition occurred on Friday night, and the following morning, the swimmers finished off the meet.
“The divers had an amazing meet,” Head Coach Katie Konopka told MyRye.com. “Lucie Megret placed 3rd, Claire Biddle placed 7th, Zoe Lopez placed 9th, and Maddie Kennedy placed 10th. Claire and Zoe both reached their sectional diving qualification score for the first time this season.”
Biddle and Lopez will join Megret at sectionals thanks to their season-best performance on Friday night. That trio will look to continue their strong seasons on an elevated stage during sections on Thursday, November 6.
For the swimmers, Kate Chesley added another exceptional meet to her accord, qualifying for the state championship in both the 200-meter Individual Medley (IM) and 100M backstroke. She will also race in the 200M freestyle relay at states, as her, Sophie Boyle, Grayson Findlay, and Clare McGlynn finished in second place in that event with a state-qualifying time of 1:41.29.
Two other team races of note include the 400M free relay of McGlynn, Findlay, Boyle, and Chesley, which came in third place, and the 200M medley (Quinn Boyle, Charlotte Tait, Elena Rojas, and Elena McGlynn) came in eighth.
Tait, an 8th-grader at Rye, had a strong solo showing in the 500M free, coming in third to qualify for sectionals. Boyle placed seventh in the 100M breaststroke to also qualify for sectionals in that event. Those two will compete one day after the divers on Friday, November 7, in the trial round. The championship round (swimmers only) for those who qualify is on Monday, November 10.
