Rye Varsity Field Hockey head coach Valerie Perkins has named her MVP for the 2025 season: senior Chloe Holden.
“Our 2025 season MVP is Chloe Holden, whose remarkable composure and leadership in goal anchored our team all year,” Valerie Perkins told MyRye.com. “Her ability to stay calm under pressure and make game-changing saves defined our season. Chloe’s excellence has set the standard for goalkeeping in our program.”
The backbone of a team that won 16 games and advanced all the way to the Sectional championship game, Holden was not only the best player on her team, but one of the best in the entire section. Her 2025 resume includes seven shutouts (two in the postseason), a 16-save performance in the sectional semifinals vs John Jay-Cross River, a 24-save performance in the 1-0 championship loss, and a 13-save win over Lakeland on September 26. She was tasked with carrying the Garnets on certain nights, nearly doing so all the way to a surprise Section 1 title.
The senior goalkeeper will continue her athletic and academic career at Hamilton College next year, where she has committed to the varsity field hockey team as a member of the Class of 2030.
