The Mamaroneck Chamber of Commerce announced that Westchester County Legislator Catherine Parker (District 7) has been named the recipient of the 2025 Eugene Warrington Person of the Year Award on Friday, November 7. The award acknowledges Parker’s selfless service and long-standing commitment to the community.
Chamber President Michael Murphy presented the award to Parker at the Chamber’s third Spotlight on Women-Owned Businesses. The event celebrated entrepreneurship, creativity, and community spirit among local businesswomen.
“Public service is never about the spotlight, but about the lives touched along the way,” Murphy said. “Catherine Parker’s commitment to Westchester… has been a testament to what true civic leadership looks like.”
Parker, a Rye resident, is set to conclude her time as a county legistlator at the end of 2025, as she has termed out. Mamaroneck’s Anant Nambiar, a fellow Democrat, won the election to claim her seat in District 7 and will begin serving on January 1, 2026.
The Eugene Warrington Person of the Year Award is presented annually to an individual who demonstrates outstanding community service and leadership that positively impacts the Village of Mamaroneck and its surrounding areas. Eugene Warrington was a veteran of WWII who returned home and worked at the family business Walters Hot Dogs, which was started by his parents in 1919. He was known for his love of Mamaroneck and contributions to the local community.
