The Rye Boys Varsity Squash team extended their season-opening winning streak to four matches on Friday, January 9, as they swept Scarsdale 7-0. The victory is the Garnets’ second in a row since their extended holiday break and comes against a perenially-loaded Raiders team.

“The Rye Varsity team completed another dominant win over Scarsdale 7-0,” Head Coach Quan Huynh told MyRye.com. “Although the team did not have its full roster, the team was able to persevere to secure the win.”

On a fill-in basis, Lachlan Bunn from the Varsity B team held his own in the #7 slot, earning a victory over his counterpart for Scarsdale as a part of the sweeping effort. When Rye woke up on Saturday morning, they were in a tie for first place in the Fairwest League with Greenwich High School, with both schools undefeated in league play.

The Garnets (4-0) will look for win number five in their next match against Greenwich Country Day at MSquash in Port Chester. The festivities begin at 4:00pm.
