Rye Girls Varisty Squash head coach Tony Campbell has named his MVP for the 2026 season: sophomore Natalie Hofmann.

“Hofmann was a consistent and dependable force for the Girls Varsity Squash team,” Campbell told MyRye.com. “She was a near automatic win, even in high pressure situations… regardless of where she played week to week.”

Hofmann went 14-5 individually across the 16-game regular season and three-game nationals slate for the Garnets, the best record on the team. She was crucial in helping Rye stay competitive against even the strongest competition throughout the year, both within and beyond Fairwest League play. Her efforts were enough to earn her All-League honors.

Even as a sophomore, Campbell recognized the natural leadership ability Hofmann brought to the table throughout the year. “The team is young, and Natalie’s even, encouraging presence and joyful sense of humor kept her young friends and teammates, at the same time, both loose and focused,” he said of his star player. “Natalie’s willingness to learn and grow as a player was evident as she improved tremendously this season.”

Hofmann will be one of six returning starters for Rye in 2027, where she will look to continue her upwards trajectory, both as a player and a leader.
