
Rye’s top cop Public Safety Commissioner Mike Kopy was installed as the head of the Westchester County Chiefs of Police Association (WCCOPA) on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck. Kopy, who has held positions with the group for many years, took the reins from Village of Tarrytown Police Department Chief John Barbelet. Over 220 people attended the celebration.
The group is a nonprofit professional organization of law enforcement leaders from Westchester and Putnam counties focused on enhancing public safety, training, and community partnership. Along with Kopy, his board was also sworn in at the event: Chief Larry Rotta of Tuckahoe, Chief Chris Satriale of Bronxville, Commissioner Neil Reynolds of New Rochelle, Police Chief Paul Oliva of Mt. Pleasant, Chief of Police Paul Creazzo of the Town of Mamroneck, Chief Christopher McNerney of Larchmony (hidden), Chief of Police Bob Noble of Yorktown and Chief of Police John Vasta of Harrison.
