The Rye Girls Golf team secured their best win of the 2026 season on Thursday, April 30, defeating Ursuline 237-242. The Garnets topped the reigning State champions by five strokes in their closest victory of the season in a signature win over the Koalas.
“Rye delivered a true team effort to defeat Ursuline today at Rye Golf Club,” Head Coach Rich Savage told MyRye.com on Thursday. “The Garnets stayed strong, with several players turning in some of their best performances of the season at a crucial moment.”
Despite two players on Ursuline carding a score below 40, Rye’s superior lineup depth shone through. Senior captain Anna Bancroft and sophomore Leila Kurbusi each shot a 45 to lead Rye, followed closely by Sophie Ehrlich’s season-best 48 and Tori Hobbins’ 49. Elle Ridley and spot starter Phoebe Lee were also part of the winning effort.
