The Letter from Rye City Democratic Committee Chair Danielle Tagger:

In the June 23rd Democratic primary, Rye residents will have just one race
on their ballot: New York State Comptroller. The state Democratic Party’s
nominating convention has endorsed the incumbent, Tom DiNapoli, and
we, members of the Rye City Democratic Committee, add our personal
endorsement to his reelection campaign.

Tom DiNapoli has held the position of NYS Comptroller — the state’s top
fiscal officer — since 2007. In that role, he oversees the NYS Retirement
Fund, manages the state retirement system and New York’s 529 college
savings programs, and works to safeguard public dollars by rooting out
waste, fraud, and abuse.

DiNapoli has steered one of the nation’s largest pension funds with skill
and discipline. Under his leadership, the fund has remained among the
best-funded public pensions in the country and has delivered solid returns
even through difficult economic periods.

As the state’s chief fiscal watchdog, DiNapoli has also worked tirelessly to
ensure that taxpayer money is spent responsibly. Through rigorous audits
of local governments, state agencies, public authorities, and state
contracts, his office has exposed wasteful spending and cases of fraud and
corruption. For example, a recent examination of the state’s Medicaid
program revealed that New York may have spent more than $2.6 billion
covering costs for individuals who do not reside in the state.

Tom DiNapoli’s record speaks for itself — decades of dependable fiscal
stewardship on behalf of all New Yorkers. We strongly encourage Rye
Democrats to cast their vote for him on June 23rd.

Early Voting runs from June 13 through June 21 at the Early Childhood
Center at Resurrection Church and your regular designated polling location
on Primary Election Day, June 23.

Sincerely,
Danielle Tagger
