Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer held his COVID-19 briefing from the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains.
Today was going to be Latimer’s last scheduled COVID-19 briefing, but Latimer changed course. In his opening remarks, Latimer said he would continue COVID-19 briefings every Monday for the foreseeable future. Commenting on the recent outbreak in Chappaqua, Latimer said there are now 27 cases attached the the June 20th event broken down to 21 in Chappaqua, 3 in Mt. Kisco, 2 in Bedford and 1 in Pleasantville. “We think its flattened out,” said Latimer in relation to the Chappaqua spread.
Monday is also the last day of Phase Three. Westchester is “scheduled to enter Phase Four tomorrow,” said Latimer on Monday. Phase Four allows for “low risk” outdoor arts and entertainment for up to 50 people.
Phase Four is currently the last of the schedules phases. There is no scheduled phase five so further direction is expected to come via an updated executive order from Governor Cuomo.
Just like everyone else, Latimer is looking at the NY State COVID-19 tracker for county and state level statistics on the pandemic and at the NY State regional monitoring dashboard to see our progress towards continued reopening.
