Nine Additional School Related COVID Cases Announced
On Sunday evening, just a few hours after announcing 16 school related COVID cases, the Rye school district announced nine additional cases. That’s 25 total school related COVID cases as the district re-opens Monday morning.
Just this past Thursday, Rye guy and Westchester County boss George Latimer warned “We know the numbers have a good chance of getting a lot worse in the next few weeks before getting better.”

Dear RCSD Families, Faculty and Staff,
Following my message from earlier today, the District was informed that additional individuals associated with RCSD schools have tested positive for COVID-19. These figures are updated from those in my communication this afternoon:
- 4 at Rye High School
- 4 at Rye Middle School
- 1 at Milton School
The individuals are currently in quarantine and were last at school prior to the winter recess. Due to federal health privacy laws, additional information about the individuals cannot be released. There is no need for any additional school-related contact tracing or quarantining associated with these new cases.
Please be assured that we will continue to do everything in our power to keep the RCSD community safe.
Sincerely,
Eric Byrne, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
