Playland Scheduled to Open

The County is planning to open Rye Playland for the 2021 season.

Rye guy and County Executive George Latimer made the announcement Thursday afternoon during his twice weekly COVID-19 update. “We are planning to open Playland,” said Latimer, going on to say it would be “quite a challenge” to open and operate the park.

The option to even consider a move was made possible when the Governor announced a week ago that amusement parks could plan to open – under various health protocols – after April 9th.

No further information or details was available from the County with regard to Playland. The park has been hiring for the season.
