The Rye Volleyball Team concluded their regular season on Thursday evening, October 24, 2024, defeating the visiting Harrison Huskies in four sets: 25-13, 25-14, 15-25, 25-21. The team ends the year winners of seven of their final eight games since the Walter Panas tournament on the final weekend of September, improving their overall record to 13-6 heading into playoffs.

Ashley Dehmer led the team in assists in every game this year, with Thursday being no different. Along with 29 assists, she added 8 digs, 2 blocks, and 3 kills. Valeria Medina had a strong showing with 12 kills, 13 digs, and 4 aces. Emma Lunstead dug 17 balls, and Phoebe Greto recorded 9 kills and 5 blocks.

The hot streak comes just at the right time for Rye, as they sit 7 games above .500 for the first time all year. At separate points throughout the fall, they have been 3-3 and 8-5 – not bad records by any means, but far from the year end  .684 win percentage. Such success down the stretch paves the way for the Garnets to host a playoff game at Rye High School.
