The Rye Police Department has hired a new officer, Officer Ricard Dashi was sworn in as a Rye Police officer on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Rye City Hall.
Officer Dashi transferred from the NYPD to join the Rye Police Department. He is a 2023 graduate of Dominican College and a former varsity soccer player at Clarkstown South High School. He joined the NYPD in 2023, serving as a Quality of Life Officer in the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx. He later served with Patrol Borough Bronx North’s Community Response Team, working closely with residents and community stakeholders to address neighborhood concerns and enhance public safety.
In addition to his background and experience in law enforcement, Officer Dashi has also previously served as a New York State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and has volunteered as a firefighter.
