A 21-year old male drown down on Rye Playland property around 7:15pm Friday night, June 12, 2020.
The drowning occurred in a non-swimming area towards the end of the Playland property and just before the Edith Reed Sanctuary property. There are posted signs that say no swimming.
“The man had been removed from the water prior to our arrival and EMS personnel were doing CPR,” said Kieran O’Leary, Westchester County Police public information officer. “He was taken to Greenwich Hospital where he was pronounced.”
County Police are investigating it as an apparent accidental drowning.
