Artists Evan Bishop is just one of the artists that created the several dozen butterflies you can see across Rye’s village green and aflutter in stores up and down Purchase Street. In his butterfly creation, Bishop PIMPs (“Paint in My Passion”) by celebrating hip hop. Watch the video below to understand the stories coming from Bishop’s cocoon.
The “Rye’sAbove” butterfly project, which debuted a few weeks ago, will be on display throughout the summer. At the same time, an online auction for the butterflies will raise funds to benefit the educational and scholarship programs of The Rye Rotary and Rye Arts Center. The bidding has fluttered opened for Bishop’s hip hop butterfly and the myriad of others.
