Girls Varsity Swimming Feels Undertow from Bronxville-Tuckahoe

Rye Girls Varsity Swimming felt the undertow from Bronxville-Tuckahoe on Tuesday, sinking 81-86.

“Junior Zoe Lien had a great meet,” said Rye Girls Varsity Swimming Coach Kelly Johanson. “She had the closest race of the meet in the 100 fly. She just touched out her opponent to get the win. Zoe also placed 2nd in the 200 Free.”

Other highlights:

  • Freshman Kayla Lombardo also had some great swims. She won the 100 free and was 2nd in the 100 breaststroke.
  • Our 200 Free relay (Lien, Tavitian, Tiedemann, Geelen)and 400 free relay (Geelen, Tavitian, Lien, Lord) both won.
  • Senior Lente Geelen also won both of her events. She swam the 50 free and 500 free.

The team’s season stands at 2-1. They swim at Greeley 4:30pm Wednesday.
