Heard in Rye Tuesday: The Mental Health Challenges of Our Youth

Heard in Rye logoHeard in Rye has a program Tuesday on mental health challenges of our youth in the 21st century, including the impact of the pandemic.

Clinical psychologist Dr. Alec L. Miller, the featured speaker, will discuss these challenges, including the importance of social and emotional learning, and the evidence based on dialectical behavior therapy skills of emotional problem solving. Topics will include mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

Attendance is via zoom at 7pm, Tuesday, January 25th. There is no cost. You must register in advance.

Heard in Rye - Dr. Alec L. Miller, clinical psychologistAlec L. Miller, is a clinical psychologist, teacher, researcher, author, and disseminator of evidence-based treatments. He is co-Founder and co-Director of Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants, a private group practice and training center based in White Plains and Manhattan. He is also a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. For 20 years, from 1995 to 2015, he served as: Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychology, Director of the Adolescent Depression and Suicide Program, Associate Director of the Psychology Training, and Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY.
