New Firefighter Joins Rye FD

In a ceremony at Rye City Hall Monday morning, William Junior became Rye’s newest firefighter.

Junior is a lifelong resident of Rye who attended Midland Elementary, Rye Middle and Rye High School, where he graduated in the class of 2017. Junior attended Iona College, graduating this past May 2022 with a degree in criminal justice.

Firefighter Junior is the middle son of three boys to Liz Junior and Thomas Junior, who is a retired White Plains firefighter. According to sources at the Department of Public Safety, William would like to express his excitement and gratitude to the City of Rye as he embarks on his professional career as a second-generation firefighter.
