A man was arrested on Tuesday for menacing a co-worker with a knife at the Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.

Around 11:50am Tuesday, Rye PD officers responded to the Greenwood Union Cemetery at 215 North Street on a report of a dispute between employees working on the grounds. Officers subsequently arrested Clodomiro Jesus Allain, 71 of Port Chester, for menacing in the second degree.

An investigation determined Allain and the victim were in a verbal altercation regarding work being done on the grounds. The verbal altercation escalated leading Allain to approach the victim with a knife in an aggressive manner. The victim informed his supervisor of the incident and Rye PD was called. The victim was not injured during this altercation by the knife.

Allain was arrested and transported to Rye Police Headquarters for processing. He was arraigned in Rye City Court where he was released on his own recognizance. Menacing in the second degree is a class A misdemeanor. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
