Rye Girls Varsity Softball sunk the Valhalla Vikings on Tuesday, winning the away game 5-1.
“Penelope Gilmore earned her 1st Varsity win against Valhalla by a score of 5 to 1,” said Rye Girls Varsity Softball Coach Alex Tejera. “She pitched a complete game, allowed 5 hits, 1 earned run, 0 walks, and 9 strike outs. Ashley Kessner (3 for 3 with a triple and 2 Rbis SB) and Millie Brooks (2 for 3 2 RS 2 SB) helped lead the offense. It was a well played game all around and a good win.”
The season evens at 1-1. The Garnets were due to host Sleep Hollow Wednesday at 4:30pm.
