Rye City School District schools will be closed on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 due to expected snow, wind and poor weather.
“Due to predictions of heavy accumulating snow leading to hazardous road conditions, all Rye City Schools are closed for tomorrow, Tuesday, February 13,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Eric Byrne in a district message Monday evening.
The Rye YMCA announced a delayed opening until 12 noon on Tuesday at both their locations. Rye PD reminded residents that they must clear their sidewalks of snow and ice within 24 hours of a snow event. The Board of Education meeting scheduled for Tuesday night has been cancelled.
A winter storm warning remained in effect from 1:00am Tuesday to 6:00pm Tuesday with heavy snow of 6 to 9 inches and winds gusting up to 40 mph.
