Rye PD arrested a 46 year old man in the early hours of Friday, February 16th for drunk and disorderly conduct on Purchase Street.
Rye PD responded at 1:55am Friday to a disturbance taking place on Purchase Street in the area of Theodore Fremd Avenue in downtown Rye. An investigation was conducted which resulted in the arrest of Edwin Diaz, 46, of White Plains.
Diaz was reportedly highly intoxicated walking in the middle of the road causing a disturbance. After repeated orders from Rye PD officers to clear the roadway were denied Diaz was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct.
Diaz was processed and released on his own recognizance. Diaz was issued a return court date of February 27, 2024 in Rye City Court. Rye PD reminds you that booking charges are merely accusations and the defendant(s) are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
