Rye Girls Varsity Lacrosse was clawed by the Redhawks of Nyack on Wednesday, falling 11 – 13 at home.

The Garnets made a great run to tie the game up after half-time deficit of 5, but couldn’t finish in their final possessions as the Nyack goalie made her best saves of the game on good Rye opportunities.

“Senior Lilly Whaling led the team in goals for the day and both Caroline Doyle and Mary Sack were critical on the draw circle for the Garnets,” said Rye Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach Michelle Mason. “We look forward to playing [Nyack] again in Sectionals! The Garnets are playing a loaded schedule with top teams in Section 1 and CT, and are excited for the opportunity to make a statement in our upcoming contests.”

The season is now 4 – 1. Watch the replay. The Garnets travel to Suffern for a 2:00pm game Saturday.
