Rye Girls Varsity Lacrosse disarmed the Warriors of Wilton on Tuesday with a 15 – 14 win at Nugent Stadium.
“Lilly Whaling had a standout game for the Garnets, scoring 5 goals, winning 6 draws, and selling out all over the field,” said Rye Girls Varsity Lacrosse Coach Michelle Mason. “Our goalies made critical saves to break Wilton momentum. Our defensive system limited top Wilton offensive threats. Our middies set the tone for the game at the first whistle. And our offensive unit showed it’s depth with seven players contributing points.”
A huge win over nationally ranked Wilton for the Garnets. The Garnets jumped out to an early lead and held on in the final seconds to secure the 15-14 victory over the Warriors. An absolute battle of two top high school programs, and a statement win for Rye lacrosse.
