Girls Varsity Track Wins the Rasbeck Relays
Rye Girls Varsity Track participated in the Rasbeck Relays this past weekend at Irvington High School, taking home first place.
Cate Doyle, Signe Olsborg, Megyn Coyne, and Sophia Shoemaker won the 400 relay with a time of 52.7. A team of all 9th and 10th graders including Gigi Mazzilli, Margot Kelly, Tess Dalton, and Riley McCarthy won the mile relay.
Bella Lulaj, Sophie Bourne, Jess Bourne, and Sophia Shoemaker took 1st place in the 3200 relay with a personal best time of 10:17. Alex Verna, Sophie Bourne, Jess Bourne, and Bella Lulaj also ran a personal best in the Distance Medley relay with a time of 13:22.
Signe Olsborg won the high jump with a jump of 4’8, and Tess Dalton placed 5th at 4′. Megyn Coyne, Signe Olsborg, and Hannah Cali won the Long Jump Relay. The girls also swept the triple jump with Signe Olsborg jumping 33′, Kaiya Devitre jumping 29’7, and Sophia Shoemaker jumping 29’6. Sabrina Pereira and Hannah Cali came in 3rd in the shot put relay.
The Garnets will compete again this weekend at the Westchester Track and Field Championships.
