Friday’s forecast is 85 degrees, sunshine and no high bacteria counts.

The Westchester Department of Health (DOH) lifted its Rye Beach ban Thursday afternoon – good news heading into the weekend.

Managers of both Rye Town Park’s Oakland Beach and Playland Beach were instructed by the DOH late Tuesday to close beaches to the public. Beaches at the private American Yacht Club and Coveleigh Club were also ordered closed.

The DOH said the Rye beaches could reopen as of 1:30pm Thursday. Rye Town Park’s Oakland Beach plans to re-open at 9:00am Friday. Playland has yet to confirm its reopening time.

(Updated) Playland will open its beach at 10am Friday.
