  • Rye PD issued a statement at 2:30pm that only emergency vehicles are permitted on the road. “If you see a Police or DPW barrier, DO NOT CROSS! You will be summonsed.”
  • Westchester County has declared a State of Emergency “as the region faces a significant, and potentially life-threatening weather event. Dangerous rainfall is currently impacting the area and is expected to continue, leading to concerns of flash flooding and hazardous conditions throughout Westchester.”
    • “I am taking this step to ensure the security, well-being and health of our citizens during this challenging time,” said Rye guy and County boss George Latimer. “The severe storm has created hazardous conditions, and we are committed to providing all necessary assistance to address the threats to public health and safety.”

    • Playland Parkway
    • Milton Rd area of Nursery Field
    • Highland Hall area of Wappanocca Ave
    • Highland Rd area of Purchase St
    • Park Ave at Harrison line
    • Theodore Fremd Ave in the area of Elm Pl
    • Orchard Ave in the area of Laurel St

  • The Rye Free Reading Room is now closed.
  • Just before 12:00pm noon, Rye school cancelled all sports and after-school activities for Friday
  • The Rye YMCA has put up its flood gates hoping to keep the Blind Brook at bay
  • Friends of Rye Nature Center has cancelled its Oktoberfest fundraiser event for Friday evening
  • Bowman Avenue dam remains at capacity as of 2:00pm Friday
