Garnets Softball Hangs 12 on Byram Hills for First Win

The Rye Girls Softball Team picked up their first official win of the 2025 season on Thursday, May 1, defeating Byram Hills 12-3. The Garnets set a new season high in runs and hits in the lopsided victory, which saw them put up all twleve runs in the first two innings.

Penelope Gilmore earned the win in the circle with a complete game, and Rye supported her with nineteen hits, broken down as follows:

Caroline Joyce: 4-5, double, triple, 3 runs, 1 run batted in (home run shy of the cycle)
Charlotte Dinger: 3-4, 2 R, 2 RBIs, stolen base
Tessa Labovitz: 3-5, 2B, R, RBI
Ava Cross: 3-5, 2B, 2 R, RBI
Clara Meszkat: 2-3, 3B, R, walk
Ava Rollano: 1-3, 2 R, 2 RBIs, BB
Rebekah Golub: 1-3, 3B, 3 RBIs, BB
Rosie Zicherman: 1-2, RBI
Emma Stark: 1-1 (first varsity hit)

The Garnets are now 1-7 on the year and currently in action against Pelham.
