Lilly Whaling didn’t need any more accolades to prove she is one of the best athletes in New York state, but she received another anyway: LoHud’s girls lacrosse Player of the Year.

Whaling, who is committed to Cornell University to continue her academic and athletic journey, capped off a very successful career at Rye with 54 goals and 12 assists for 66 points during her senior year. She led the Garnets to the State title game and earned All-Section honors to boot. The Lions Club named her Rye’s 2023-24 Athlete of the Year back in June, but this newest honor she received is the most impressive yet.
