A 45 year old man has been arrested for doing “donuts” at Rye Recreation in a Hummer H3 vehicle.
On Saturday evening around 6:50 pm Rye PD received several calls regarding a party doing “donuts” on the grass in front of the main building of the Rye Recreation Center, located at 281 Midland Ave in the City of Rye. The area is right underneath a massive oak tree that is a centerpiece of that area of the park.
Rye Police officers located the vehicle and conducted an investigation into the damage to the grass. James D. Wilson, 45, of New Rochelle, was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, a class A Misdemeanor. Wilson was processed and released on his own recognizance with a return date to Rye City Court on July 1, 2025 at 9:00am.
