Edward Coristine, a 2024 graduate from Rye Country Day School who is known by the self-declared nickname “Big Balls,” has resigned from Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) team, as reported by the NY Times on Tuesday. He is now a special government employee with the Social Security Administration.
When he first joined DOGE in February 2025, Coristine was hired as a temporary special government employee. In May, he assumed a full-time job as a senior advisor at the General Services Administration (GSA), where he focused on analyzing government payment systems to identify inefficiencies and potential fraud.
Before joining DOGE, the teen was involved in several workplace controversies, including being fired from an internship for allegedly leaking internal information and working in a Neuralink division linked to data theft.
According to the NYT article, Coristine has not publicly commented on his resignation.
