About the Artist
Elizabeth B. Derderian is noted for her realistic, classic handling of interiors, landscapes, and still life arrangements, as well as for her detailed renderings of familiar local street scenes. A recipient of numerous major awards in national and local juried exhibitions, her work has earned top honors from the some of the most prominent judges in the art world today. Her work has consistently been juried into highly competitive national collective shows.
A graduate of Barnard College, she received her B.A. cum laude in art history, and subsequently earned her Master of Business Administration, with distinction, from the NYU Graduate School of Business Administration.
Her work has been published many times, most notably in Gallery and Studio Magazine’s April/May 2013, and in the June, 2010 issue of the American Artist Magazine. Her paintings are part of numerous private collections throughout the United States and abroad. Her corporate clients have included Mastercard, Pearl Restaurant Group (see the postcards at the front desk), Realty3, the Rye Chamber of Commerce, and Rye High School.
For 15 years she instructed adults in oil and acrylic painting at The Rye Arts Center, and has participated in the “Painters on Location” event since 2003. She has had 12 solo exhibitions, most recently at the Mamaroneck Library entitled “Then and Now” which ran from January 6 through February 28, 2025.
Ms. Derderian is presently an elected member of The Catharine Lorillard Art Club, the National Association for Painters in Casein and Acrylic, and is an associate member of American Women Artists . Her work can be seen on display at On the Way Cafe, Rye, N.Y.
