The city council’s agenda for its meeting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 is out. The Council will convene at 5:30pm and adjourn into executive session to discuss personnel matters, dog leash and leafblower rules, and 2025/2026 tax levy/rate. The meeting will also be aired on Cablevision Channel 1310 (formerly 75) and Verizon Channel 39.  We’ll also see you on the Internet (live and archive).

Formal office hours of the Mayor and other officials have been suspended.

  • All Clear. Award bid for Sanitary Sewer Cleaning and CCTV Project (Contract # 2025-01). 
  • Par for the Course. Consideration to authorize the City Manager to transfer $1,000,000 from Rye Golf Club’s Unrestricted Net Assets to Rye Golf Club Project Accounts. 
  • Out with the Old. Resolution to declare certain City equipment as surplus.
  • From Acorns to Oaks (a Keystone Species!). Consideration of a request by the Rye Sustainability Committee to use the Highland Lot from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on October 18th for their 250 Acorns to Oaks Giveaway.

The next regular meeting of the City Council will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at 6:30pm.

  1. Thx 4 the note about R.T. Bird, my uncle. It includes info unknown to me: his father was a Methodist pastor and was busy with clerical affairs. Both are suspect – sources? HIS 9th grade report is among the Bird papers at 600 Milton Rd. Also, his book, “Bones for Barnum” is great reading. His siblings also interesting: Junius, archaeologist, several books, Alice, illustrator of “Trees of the Countryside”, and Doris, librarian at Rye Reading for all life.
