In a video that has gone viral around the world, a Rye boy attending the US Open was the target of a CEO who snatched a hat being given to him by men’s tennis player Kamil Majchrzak. In videos and photos, the boy is seen wearing a t-shirt from the Coveleigh Club.
The young man was courtside on Thursday looking for an autograph from Majchrzak when the tennis player went to hand him his hat. At that very moment, a man soon identified by the Internet as Piotr Szczerek, the CEO and owner of a Polish paving company Drogbruk, snatched the hat away from the boy.

Two things happened next.
The Internet piled hate onto CEO Szczerek. According to various reports, it was bad enough that Szczerek deactivated his social media accounts. At the same time, once tennis player Majchrzak realized what had happened, he asked the Internet for help to find the intended recipient of his hat.
Happy Ending
The Internet quickly found the young man and a meet and greet with tennis player Majchrzak was quickly arranged where he received a hat and other keepsakes. On an Instagram story Majchrzak posted a photo of himself with the young fan saying “Hello World, Together with Brock we wish you a great day!”
“I believe I did what most of athletes would do in this kind of situation and I really hope Brock together with family had a great day,” Majchrzak told MyRye.com on Monday.
